PERSONAL BY NATURE.
A little more
about privacy.
Elsewhere is still in development. This is how the current app and this teaser website handle your information.
Your world begins on your phone.
Your recorded visit history, Home choice, saved world and personal place names, notes and favourites are stored on your device. The current app has no accounts or cloud saves. Your personal names and notes are not sent to the geographic service.
You choose location access.
Location access, background visit collection and local notifications are separate choices. You choose Home explicitly. You can pause visit collection in Settings and delete collected data through the app. The website does not request device location.
Building your islands uses a service.
When you build or update your world, the app sends place coordinates and dwell totals (the time spent at a place) to your configured geographic service. The default is api.getelse.app. The service uses prepared geographic datasets to interpret those places and create an illustrative world. It does not retain world-generation requests or log coordinates and visit histories. Network connections necessarily expose normal connection information, such as an IP address, to the server.
Live weather is a separate lookup.
Live weather uses Open-Meteo through the configured service. Only coordinates rounded to 0.1 degree are sent for weather, without visit histories, personal names or place identifiers. The service keeps a short-lived weather cache for up to ten minutes. You can choose an illustrative time and weather preset instead.
A last little world, even offline.
The last successful drawing is cached on your phone, so you can return to it without a connection. Offline examples are illustrative worlds and do not become recorded visits.
This website.
This teaser does not ask for your calendar, location, account or email address. It has no analytics, advertising trackers or third-party embeds. Its illustrations and development scenes are bundled with the site, and browsing it does not call the app’s geographic service. The hosting provider may process normal request information to deliver the site.
